*edit: just realized I saved this as a draft before section, so here it is now*
Upon googling my name, I was pleased at first to see my name come up next to LinkedIn, which is a great way of making professional connections...till I realized that I haven't touched my account since I signed up. No, some impostor stole my name (not really) and joined the Air Force and has a whopping 18 connections! Awesome!
I like to feel like my name is more unique, so it was somewhat sad to see me come up as a result. In fact, a lot of people share my name. I feel like a clone or something. So once I got past the two LinkedIn entries who are not me, and the sweet youtube video of German me who is a folk singer, I found on the 5th entry down my twitter account...followed by two mentions of my account by Packers RB Ryan Grant and a newspaper writer. My twitter isn't too interesting, but if you want to hunt me down, go right ahead, I use it mostly for sports updates, random statuses and mini-rants.
At the bottom of the page was the facebook account for Air Force impostor Tom, so I took solace in knowing mine wasn't up top in that respect. On the next page though, I found my first practicum post for this blog 4 posts down, so be aware that this blog is out there for all to see!
All in all, about what I expected. Surprising to find references to myself so high, but I guess that can be good and bad. Still most interesting to see how worldwide people with my name are, I highly recommend checking out German Tom singing "Ring of Fire".
