Kathryn Messenger - Practicum Assignment

This is my second practicum assignment post on editing wikipedia articles and I'm sad to say that it is a frustrated post. Instead of editing an article, I had the intention of adding a picture to a page which currently has no picture. As noted before, even finding an article to edit has become a challenge since there are so many millions of articles on wikipedia and a large number of them have already been constantly edited to the point that I don't know what else I could possibly add. Once I found an article I wanted to add a picture to, I quickly found an image that would fit the article. Unfortunately adding a picture to wikipedia is a much more complicated process compared to simply adding text. After browsing the wikipedia tutorial page for more information, I ended up having to google an e-how article on how to upload a picture to wikipedia. This was much easier to understand but a longer process than I had initially expected. I quickly realized that the picture I had originally picked could have been copyright and went through a variety of other websites such as flickr in the hopes of finding a picture I could use on wikipedia. This proved to be a very lengthy process and I did not end up finding a picture that I was looking for. The page in which you must upload the initial picture (which is not the page where it will eventually be viewed) also required users to provide a number of other facts about the picture, the author, and the copyright. Hopefully I will be able to find another picture that I can upload to wikipedia, that is currently my ongoing challenge with the site. (I still don't know how to code pictures.)
