Technology, score!

I spent the majority of my evening yesterday sitting in front of my computer doing a number of different things. The main reason I was using my computer last night was to write a recap for the women's hockey game that took place earlier in the day (W, 6-2). During that time, I went used the internet for several work-related things like stats and upcoming schedules. I also digressed from work and obviously went onto facebook, as well as gmail (for the sole reason of using gchat) and several sports websites such as ESPN, SI.com and yahoo sports. Once I went onto ESPN and realized that the Blackhawks were playing, I quickly turned on my Slingbox and started watching (suck it, Melissa). While simultaneously writing the story and watching the Blackhawks, I received emails containing stats and game information from the women's hockey game which I had to then break down using a stats program that we use in our offices. I packed up my stuff and drove over to our offices at Camp Randall. I hopped on one of the computers in our office to use the stats program, while also bringing my laptop along to continue watching the Hawks game. Once I broke down the files and uploaded them to UWBadgers.com, I went onto the tickets page and tried to get student tickets for the Rose Bowl. I didn't. After that, I finished up the recap, posted it to UWBadgers.com and drove home. Once I got into my apartment, I sat down on the couch and started watching several hours of DVRed television programs, while constantly being bombarded with phone calls, text messages and emails (I was off of facebook and gchat at this point) from friends and family, wondering if I had gotten tickets. All in all, sounds like a really awesome night, right?

  1. Benjamin,

I am wildly offended by this post. I cannot help that my parents are too incompetent to fix their internet, so it hurts my feelings that you would try to rub this in. Also, I think it is a little inappropriate that you lied and said that you were "constantly being bombarded" with calls and texts. Sure you were.

    Sincerely,
    Melissa
