Practicum Post 5- Brad Umane
After going through a pretty serious XboX live phase, homework and lack of sleep has prevented me from playing on a daily basis. I find it hard to believe that people play hours and hours a day. Over the last couple months, I haven't really been motivated to advance my gamer tag. I guess I have more fun in the real world than the virtual world. I would much rather sit around a table with four friends playing a long game of gin rummy than sitting in front of the television screen. After this assignment, more and more I get irritated when I see my friends mindlessly watching television all night, every night. All human interaction is lost and they are either brainwashed by the television or completely focused on a video game. I can see how Xbox live could be really important for people who live alone, but at this stage of my life, I live with three room mates. I now want to make a conscious effort to put down the controller.
