Practicum 6 - Frustration

While I've enjoyed making my own website, at the same time, it's equally become frustrating. It's annoying that I haven't been able to get many people to visit it, even after a few facelifts. I haven't figured out a way to include a view count but based on the lack of reception on Facebook and Twitter, I'm assuming the viewership is small. I should look into the view count idea, though. I just assumed people interested in what I had to offer would come seek ME out. It's nearly impossible for me to put myself out there in as wide of a way that is expected to become successful online like something like Facebook has.

Twitter definitely helps, because I can spread the word to people around the world. The whole concept of key words and hashtagging has helped with that. I've had a people inquire about the website, but I've explained it was primarily for school, not that I wouldn't see what project they were interested in regardless. One girl wanted some information on Star Trek and I'm like yeah how the heck am I gonna figure that out? Clearly I'd have to rent the DVDs and either get into the show or fast forward a lot - kind of exhausting options.

All in all, I'm finding this website isn't worth the work it would need to be held up. Not from a structural standpoint but just purely how much of my own effort would need to go into the content assemblage.

I'll try to take some screencaps for the final two blog posts, I'm not that handy with technology.
