First I checked out an old Youtube of a local news reporter asking a kid how he liked the zombie makeup he was wearing to which he responds "I like turtles" in a little kid fashion. It was hilarious. Next I went to Hulu and watched a random episode of Family Guy which was pretty funny. These websites are very similar, as far as popularity goes. They also show video content in short or long clips. One of the biggest differences I saw was that Youtube is very do it yourself video whereas Hulu is high production professional video. Hulu's website has better picture quality, more pictures on the home page and seems like they spent a lot of time and money designing Hulu. In comparison to Youtube which has lesser quality and more text.
I personally like to go to youtube more because don't follow TV shows that closely so I don't need to see every episode or each episode in order. I also don't like that your show is broken up by advertisements in segments. Although the ads are shorter than TV ads, when I am online i have an expectation that I will be able to watch content interruption free (as if I was in a movie theater). I also like Youtube for its low production home video content. It is something new that I can't get through my TV. The videos are also shorter so I can watch more videos on Youtube than Hulu.
