For this blog post I decided to look into this phenomenon known as "e-dosing", or as many people on youtube are calling it, "I-dosing". The whole idea seemed fairly absurd to me, but I just had to check it out for myself to see what it was like.
As I suspected, not very convincing. I decided to watch a video called "Millenium Bug", which claimed to be the 'ultimate I-dosing experience'. So to get into it, I set the mood a little bit by putting in my headphones, turning off all lights but the computer, and turning up the volume while watching it fullscreen.
Needless to say, I found myself fairly sober by the end of it, and have concluded that this is the last resort of high school kids who can't sneak alcohol out of their parents liquor cabinet or afford real drugs. Although I must say the song in the video was catchy, and very familiar. Indeed, it was a popular song from a few years ago from DJ Paul Oakenfold (of whom I used to be a big fan), and is entitled "Set Me Free". Since I never got high listening to that song before, I can pretty safely say that this is just a bunch of BS, but an interesting fad all the same. I'm sure some people just buy into it because of it's repetitive and somewhat hypnotic beat, but ultimately just a hoax.
I recently tried one of these sites because I did chat roulette I felt left out. Other than hurting my eyes, I didn't feel good or high. I definitely wasn't tripping out.
