practicum assignment

For the practicum assignment, I got assigned media fandom. Being a huge fan of TV, I knew that there'd be so many message and community boards dedicated to any type of show that I can participate in. I looked at a few fan websites, Entourage, Arrested Development, Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother, and ultimately decided to choose Beverly Hills 90210 (the original) for my project.

The reason I chose 90210, is not only because I watched this my entire life and do really enjoy this show, but also because the people who write on this message board actually believe that the characters on the show are real people. Reading the posts were hilarious and it was no question that I would choose this discussion board for my assignment.

After reading the posts, it was surprising to see how far back some of the posts go, I'm talking years back. When writing back to these posts, I decided my best option would be to act as if I really thought that these characters are real life people and talk about them as if they are my real friends. Like many people writing on this board, my best friends are now Brenda, Kelly, Brandon, and the rest of the West Bev gang.
