Now that I've gotten people to comment on my blog on a regular basis (both friends and a person I don't know) I wanted to start getting people to "follow" my blog. I was trying to figure out the key to getting people to be interested in a blog enough to "follow" them and I decided there are probably two main reasons. The first is that the person has to already have an account compatible with the log-in options of my blog and the second is that the person has to really be interested in the topic. So I awkwardly stalked the profile of the person who has commented on my blog that I don't know and found her blog. On her blog there were a bunch of people commenting with an account from a site called Delish.
I went on to Delish and found that you can make a Delish account using your gmail account which is really great because you can also comment on my blog with a gmail account. They're all connected! So I made a delish profile, posted some recipes, commented on a bunch of forum posts and recipe question chats, and also posted the link to my blog on a member info blog. No one has commented on my Delish posts or made any effort to contact me via Delish but I have noticed something on my blog. I can't see how many page views I have but before I started using Delish I had 16 views of my blog profile (which is an option Blogger offers) and now I have over 40 so I am counting that as a type of page view! I will continue blogging and actively posting, commenting, and participating on Delish and continue to connect my Delish activities to my blog. Hopefully I will get some of them to "follow" or comment on my blog!
