Since I became a member on Epicorious.com I have been taking time over the past few days to explore the site a a little bit more to see what is has to offer. The forums have been providing great cooking tips that I have yet to use, but are all very informative. While exploring the website I came across an application on the site called Epi chat. Curious as to what it was I clicked it on it to find out. Epi Chat is an application on the site that allows you to interact directly with other members of Epicorious. Rather than waiting for people to respond to questions on a forum Epi chat provides a more immediate answer for questions you may have.
Interested in testing it out I logged onto Epi chat by logging in with my username. It is basically just like an instant message style format. Several people were logged into the chat although the conversation turned out just being me and one other person. It seems some people just might log into the chat to read in on other people questions and answers, as there were several of us who were part of the chat but only two of us talking. I basically asked if anyone had any good recipe suggestions only to get in response to make some sort of meat and a side dish. Thanks alot Ginsugirl, great suggestion! NOT! I think someone who doesnt know how to cook could've figured that meal out. Our conversation basically went nowhere, but none the less this can be a very useful tool if the person or several people you are engaging with have great things to share.
