Hulu vs. Youtube
On Hulu, I watched an SNL excerpt of Celebrity Jeopardy, while on YouTube I watched "Grape Lady Falls." I enjoyed watching both, however it was easier on Youtube. Hulu made me sit through a lengthy add before viewing the video, whereas Youtube booted up my video immediately. The quality of the video on Hulu was drastically better than Youtube though, which I did like. The content of the video's are what differed most though. My Youtube video that I viewed was from a local news report. In the video, a lady gets carried away stomping grapes in a bucket, and proceeds to fall a considerable distance offscreen, followed by her making noises of pain. There is then an awkward cut away to the news studio. The quality was bad, but I didn't mind because the video was so funny. Whereas SNL was designed for me to laugh, the YouTube video was something from everyday life that ended up being funny. The comments on the youtube video were also pretty funny. Hulu seems better for watching a prestigious television show in good quality, whereas YouTube is better for everyday videos. It should be noted too that it is not possible to watch SNL on youtube, because NBC takes their videos down on the site.
