Practicum 2 - Hannah McClung

I have started to cook based on possible blog topics! I think I now fully understand why people find blogging about a certain topic is so interesting. When I used to blog about my day-to-day activities I had to plan topics and really think about what to write. By blogging about cooking I have things to blog about every time I go out to eat, cook for myself, or peruse a cook book! It is definitely true that blogging about a topic is not only more enjoyable but also more interesting!

I have recently blogged about some new recipes I just tried, my foray into crock pot cooking, and the dilemma of cooking enough food to have to eat leftovers [http://glassonionperspective.blogspot.com/].

As for making connections with other bloggers...I have found that to be rather difficult. I have commented on other cooking blogs but there's no way of connecting my comments back to my blog without awkwardly posting a link back to one of my posts. I am listed as "following" multiple other cooking bloggers but none of them have reciprocated the action. I am unsure of how to get followers for my blog as I have already taken to posting my new blogs on my Twitter and Facebook. Hopefully I will get some followers soon. The only aspect of connecting with other people in the blogosphere I have encountered is looking at and collecting recipes posted to other bloggers' sites. It is very interesting to see what other types of cooking blogger are writing about and the differences in recipes based on the demographic of the bloggers!
