History of the Internet

After watching the video on the history of the internet, I have realized that I don't know much about how the internet works. The video was able to clarify some ideas but still left me confused. I have gained a better general understanding of internet and how it was created and why. Certain aspects, however, like Cyclades have left me confused.

The video gave me new insight into the start of the internet. In lecture, we discussed how the military needs helped to start the internet, in a similar manner to the creation of radio, but this video gave more specific reasons. I found it very interesting that the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis are two main factors to the creation of internet. Yet, in addition to military needs, I found it interesting that it was known that internet would be a huge consumer product from before its creation.

I found the video to be a little boring but made it easier to understand the technological terms that were unclear during lecture. Though the speaker was monotone, the captions and images were able to keep me engaged.
